# The SEO Machine

The SEO Machine gets a business found by AI assistants like ChatGPT. It is part of Ownbox. Updated 2026-10-18.

## What is the SEO Machine?

The SEO Machine finds the questions a business's customers ask AI assistants. It then writes the answers and publishes them on the business's own website, so ChatGPT and other AI assistants find the business and send it customers. AEO stands for answer engine optimization. The SEO Machine was called the AEO Machine until October 2026.

## How does it work?

1. **It finds the questions.** It works out what buyers are asking ChatGPT and other AI assistants about the business's field.
2. **It writes the answers.** Each article opens with a short, direct answer, the kind search engines and AI assistants quote. Each one is marked up for both.
3. **It checks every article.** Before anything publishes, a hard check blocks three things:
   - words the business never uses
   - competitor names
   - any number the business hasn't approved
4. **It publishes on the business's own website,** on its own schedule. The owner sets how many articles a week.
5. **It counts the results.** It counts the visits that come from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, and connects Google Search Console with one button.

## Can I stop or take down an article?

Yes. Any article can be taken down, and the owner can pause the machine.

## What does a business need for it?

- a website
- an Ownbox, which signs in to the Claude or ChatGPT plan the business already pays for

## Does it work?

Ownbox runs it on its own website, ownbox.io. See "Ownbox runs on Ownbox".

## How do I get it?

For a limited time, Ownbox Core comes with the SEO Machine or the Unified Inbox free, and Ownbox Pro includes both. Plans and prices: https://www.ownbox.io/#pricing. More: https://www.ownbox.io/seo-machine
